From late September through the end of October, Fort Rickey switches from our regular summer operation to a new operation with new activities and pricing.
Some of our delicate animals are moved off exhibit and into their warm winter quarters. Also, approximately half of the zoo is closed off to foot traffic to allow safe operation of our wagon rides. There are still lots of animals to enjoy without taking the wagon ride including: deer feeding, the Maternity Ward, bunnies, barnyard animals and our daily wolf and otter shows.
As in our summer operation, the emphasis during the Fall Fun Festival is on "hands on" family fun with special activities such as: hay bale maze, pumpkin painting, pedal tractors, oat-filled activity station, pony rides, wagon rides and more.
The concession stand menu has also been changed for the fall with: hot cider, donuts, hot chocolate, chili, fresh baked pies and home made fudge.
The Fall Fun Festival is open to the general public weekends only, including Columbus Day. The Festival begins on Saturday, September 24th and runs through Sunday, Oct 30th. from 10am until 4pm.
Admission is $4.50 per person with children UNDER TWO admitted free. The summer FREE CHILD PASS does not apply to the Fall Fun Festival because it already has a reduced rate.
Each child receives a free mini pumpkin with their paid admission to decorate at our pumpkin decorating table. Pony Rides and Wagon Rides are $2.50 per person. Group packages are also available.
